We also offer Physiotherapy at the Studio on Mondays and Wednesdays from 17.00-21.00.
Physiotherapy uses a variety of techniques to help your muscles and joints work to their full potential, helping to repair damage by speeding up the healing process and reducing pain and stiffness.
Physiotherapy can play an important part in rehabilitation, such as helping you relearn basic movements, if for example you have suffered a stroke.
Please call Alan Lyons and Elizabeth Forsythe on 07930 140 826 to book an appointment.

Sports Massage is a form of therapy designed to assist in correcting imbalances that have already built up in soft tissue. These imbalances can arise just from using the body in a repetitive way, in sport or in day-to-day life. Tensions build up in the soft tissues as we use them and this is completely natural. However, it is the pattern of the tension and how long it remains that can result in pain/discomfort/stiffness and can also be detrimental to sporting performance.
You can think of Sports Massage as working to dissipate the tensions and “resetting” the body to a state from which it wants to work, making your body happier and more efficient.

“Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally.” Jon Kabat-Zinn
Mindfulness means practicing a moment by moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations and surrounding environment. It is a tool that supports stress reduction and increased wellbeing.
NICE (the UK’s National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) recommends Mindfulness as a front line treatment for certain conditions. Mindfulness is being taught with great effect in schools, prison and even the UK Houses of Parliament. It has been adopted by a number of global companies, including Google and Apple
Many of my clients have benefited from using these techniques to help switch off, improve sleep, reduce stress and anxiety, manage overwhelming emotion and calm a racing or chattering mind. I wanted to share these techniques and practices with groups so I am offering one day introductions to mindfulness on selected Sundays throughout the year at Pilates Body Studio, Bexley (www.pilatesbodystudio.co.uk). Natalie Bird Therapies
Holistic massage is championed for reducing both emotional and physical stress. Designed to improve circulation, soothe muscles and aid relaxation. Gliding, stroking and kneading techniques are used across the whole body. A light to medium pressure is used throughout.
Pregnancy Massage has benefits for both mother and baby. Benefits include easing muscle tension, improving poor circulation, alleviating swelling and fluid retention. It can also aid deeper sleep and help mother reconnect with her changing body. This is a side lying treatment incorporating lots of stretching and long soothing strokes.Deep tissue techniques work below superficial connective tissue releasing the restrictions of deeper muscles, tendons and ligaments. Movements are slower and deeper with pressure applied directly to trigger points releasing stubborn knots.

A natural, holistic and simple way to help the body heal
Reflexology is based on the principle that the feet (as well as the hands) are mini maps of the human body. Reflex points on the soles, tops and sides of feet correspond to particular areas, organs and glands in the body.
Reflexology aims at balancing the whole of your being by treating your mind, body and spirit, rather than a set of symptoms. It can help:
Improve circulation and digestion
Reduce stress
Restore hormonal imbalance
Complaints such as migraines and pain management
Treatment works on your reflex points using the tips of the thumb or fingers. The pressure applied is firm (but can be adjusted according to each individual), and as specific areas of the feet are treated, you will experience sensations around different parts of the body.
Areas that induce the most discomfort indicate that the corresponding part of the body is more out of balance than those areas with less discomfort.
To book an appointment call Genine on 01322 555042.
A 1 hour treatment costs £45.00
