Yoga has been practiced for more than 5,000 years. Yoga focuses on learning physical poses, which are called asanas. During a class there is always a form of breathing technique and possibly a meditation technique as well. Yoga is designed purely for relaxation, however yoga also teaches you how to move your body in new ways. Yoga has great health benefits by enabling you to develop your flexibility, strength, and balance.
At a glance, Pilates and yoga seem to have a lot in common. They are both mind-body conditioning formats that rely on smooth, precise movements and measured breathing. In fact, the similarities between Pilates and yoga are not completely coincidental.
Joseph H. Pilates, the founder of the Pilates Method, studied yoga and martial arts extensively, and sought to integrate the mind-body aspects of these practises into his new body conditioning exercises and routines.
We offer Vinyasa Yoga In Studio on Saturday 8-9 am with Laura.
